Maid of the Mist

Niagara Falls is an stunning natural wonder. It's hard to describe or capture in photos the power of the falls. We took the Maid of the Mist boat tour, which is a quick 20 minute cruise up next to both of the main falls, the American Falls and Horseshoe Falls. Everything sort of looks gray and bleak in these photos because it was gray and rainy in Niagara that day.

The American Falls from the boat.

Horseshoe Falls from the boat. A huge mist cloud is generated as the falls crash down.
There was so much mist and churning water that it seemed like we were in a huge storm. We got soaked. If you squint real hard, you may see the Horseshoe Falls in there somewhere.

Picture from the Canadian side of the boat as it approaches Horseshoe Falls.
American Falls on the left, and Horseshoe Falls in the background, from the overlook on the U.S. side.

The American Falls, with Niagara Falls, NY in the background. That bridge on the left over the Niagara River connects the U.S. and Canada.

View of Horseshoe Falls from a tower in Canada. I think that is Ontario, Canada in background.
